23.07 – How to Set Boundaries With Friends or Family: Boundaries are invisible fences that protect emotional health while keeping connection safe. They tell others how to treat you without punishing them. Setting limits with people you love can feel uncomfortable, but love without boundaries becomes exhaustion. Start by identifying what behaviors drain you—constant calls, criticism, or guilt—and decide how you’ll respond next time. Communicate calmly, not during conflict, and stay consistent afterward. Healthy families and friendships honor boundaries because they create trust, not distance. It may take repetition before others adjust, but stand firm with kindness. When you hold boundaries, you model respect that inspires others to do the same. Over time, you’ll notice less resentment and more peace, proof that love and limits can exist together harmoniously.
