Lesson Overview

22.23 – When You Feel Pressured to Educate Everyone: Sometimes it feels like you’re expected to explain every cultural issue to others simply because you’re the only one who understands it. That pressure can drain your energy and make you feel like a walking textbook. It’s okay to share when you want to—but you don’t owe your time to every question. You can say, “I encourage you to read more about it,” or share a resource instead of reliving personal experiences. Boundaries protect your peace while still encouraging learning. True understanding grows when others take responsibility for their own education. You can still be an advocate without becoming everyone’s teacher. The goal is balance—educate when it feels meaningful, rest when it doesn’t. Growth happens when responsibility for awareness becomes shared, not one-sided.
