Lesson Overview

21.40 – What to Do When You Feel “Out of Body” Feeling “out of body” or detached is your mind’s temporary escape from overload. It can feel strange, like you’re watching yourself from outside. The fastest way back is grounding—focus on touch, breath, or your surroundings. Naming five things you see, four you feel, three you hear, two you smell, and one you taste helps reorient your senses. Movement like walking or stretching reminds your brain you’re safe here and now. Over time, these grounding tools shorten episodes and rebuild trust in your body. Detachment isn’t danger—it’s fatigue. When you meet it with calm awareness, your system resets. Each return strengthens your ability to stay present, showing your body that safety and awareness can always reconnect.
