28.13 – How to Handle Being Teased About Your Appearance: Teasing about looks can cut deep because it attacks something personal that you can’t easily change. The first step to handling it is remembering that cruel comments say more about the speaker’s insecurity than your worth. Responding with anger often fuels their need for control, but responding with calm self-assurance disarms them. Building inner strength means learning to separate someone’s opinion from your identity. You can remind yourself silently: “Their words are noise, not truth.” Over time, the more you focus on your values, talents, and goals, the less power mockery holds. People who love themselves don’t need to belittle others, and realizing that turns hurt into wisdom. True confidence is the ability to stay kind even when someone tries to shake your sense of self.
