Lesson Overview

1.05 – Emotional Numbness: When You Feel Nothing at All: Sometimes pain becomes so constant that your brain shuts off emotions to protect you. Feeling nothing can feel worse than sadness because it makes you question if you’re even alive inside. Emotional numbness isn’t heartlessness—it’s survival mode. Your body is saying, “I’ve had too much.” The way out isn’t to force feelings but to gently reconnect. Start small: notice textures, sounds, or colors. Let safe people in, even if you can’t react fully yet. Movement, music, or writing can help thaw the freeze little by little. Feelings may return slowly, and that’s okay. Numbness fades as safety grows. You’re not broken—you’re healing at your own pace.
