9.38 – When You Feel Unsafe in Relationships: Relationships should feel secure, not confusing or fearful. If your heart races, you walk on eggshells, or you hide parts of yourself to stay safe, those are red flags. Emotional or physical fear in any relationship is never normal. Begin by writing down behaviors that make you uncomfortable; naming them brings clarity. Set clear boundaries and see how the other person responds—respect is revealed in reactions, not words. Talk to a trusted friend or professional for outside perspective. Remember, love doesn’t require fear to prove loyalty. Reclaiming safety might mean distance, not confrontation. Healing starts when you believe you deserve gentle connections. Healthy love feels calm, not chaotic, and your peace is always the best proof of care.
