21.17 – When You Don’t Feel Safe in Your Own Body Sometimes past trauma or long-term stress can make your body feel like an unsafe place. You might experience detachment, discomfort, or a sense of being trapped inside yourself. Rebuilding safety begins with tiny steps that teach your body it’s allowed to relax. Soft textures, slow breathing, or supportive environments help signal calm. Safety is rebuilt, not forced. Working gently through grounding techniques, therapy, or supportive relationships helps restore trust between mind and body. It’s okay to take time; healing isn’t linear. The more you acknowledge sensations without judgment, the stronger your connection grows. Over time, you realize your body isn’t the enemy—it’s the carrier of every survival victory you’ve had. Learning to feel safe again is the beginning of freedom, confidence, and peace from within.
