Lesson Overview

7.02 – Navigating Life as a Mixed-Race or Multicultural Student: Living between cultures can make you feel like you never fully belong to one side. People may expect you to choose, but you don’t have to. Your background gives you a wider view of the world and empathy that connects you to many people. Sometimes, questions about “what you are” can feel uncomfortable, but those moments can help you define yourself instead of letting others decide. You carry the strength of multiple traditions, languages, and perspectives within you. Your voice bridges communities that might not understand each other. Celebrate what makes you different instead of shrinking to fit expectations. When you honor every part of your identity, you become whole. No one can tell you that you are “not enough” of one thing or another. You are fully yourself—complex, valuable, and perfectly real.
