11.18 – Managing Online Bullying and Trolling: Cruel comments can feel personal, but they often reflect the pain of the person posting them. Still, that doesn’t make their behavior acceptable. The best defense against bullying is disengagement—refuse to feed what seeks attention. Screenshot, block, and report without explanation. Protect your mental health first; validation isn’t worth your peace. Tell a trusted adult or mentor who can help escalate the issue properly. Rebuild confidence through supportive communities that celebrate your worth instead of attacking it. Remember, someone else’s projection does not define your identity. Your calm, firm boundary is more powerful than any insult. By refusing to respond, you reclaim your dignity and energy. Strength grows quietly when you choose self-respect over reaction.
