Lesson Overview

6.30 – Helping Siblings When You’re Struggling Too: Being the strong one for your siblings while struggling yourself is exhausting. You may feel torn between protecting them and taking care of yourself. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup. Helping doesn’t mean fixing—it means guiding them to safety and showing that asking for help is okay. Share coping tools you both can use, like grounding techniques or journaling. Let them see that fear or sadness doesn’t make you weak. If danger arises, plan escape or contact numbers together to build teamwork. Encourage them to talk to adults too; you don’t have to be the only hero. Make space for your emotions so they don’t turn into resentment. Sibling unity can be a survival bond—but healing individually strengthens everyone. Love means guiding, not losing yourself.
