7.32 – When Labels Are Put on You Without Consent: Being labeled by others without your permission can feel violating. Whether it’s rumors, stereotypes, or assumptions, those false definitions steal your voice. People often label what they don’t understand. It’s unfair, but it’s also common. The first step to reclaiming power is realizing that you don’t have to accept every word thrown at you. You get to define yourself, not defend yourself. It helps to remember that labels reveal more about the person using them than the one receiving them. Surround yourself with those who see beyond surface judgments. Speak your truth calmly and consistently—it rewrites the narrative. Refusing false labels is not rebellion; it’s self-protection. Over time, your actions will drown out the noise of assumptions. Authenticity always outlasts gossip.
