Lesson Overview

9.17 – Dealing With Threats on Social Media: Digital threats can feel just as real as physical ones because your brain can’t always separate screens from reality. Words online can invade your peace, replaying in your thoughts even when you log off. The first step is documenting everything—screenshots, messages, dates—and then blocking or reporting the source. Talk with trusted adults or authorities; you don’t have to handle intimidation alone. Adjust privacy settings to control who sees you, and remind yourself that ignoring bullies isn’t weakness—it’s protection. Your worth isn’t up for debate in comment sections. After safety steps, give yourself time offline to let your mind breathe again. Replace the fear loop with positive connection and calm spaces. Your digital safety matters as much as physical safety; defending it is an act of self-respect, not overreaction.
