27.09 – When You’re Not Sure How to Talk About Death: Talking about death can feel awkward because our culture often avoids it, leaving you unsure what’s “okay” to say. You might worry about making others uncomfortable or breaking down mid-sentence. But silence can build walls that make grief heavier to carry. Finding your voice doesn’t mean sharing everything—it means allowing truth to exist outside your mind. You can start small: “I miss them,” “I’m struggling,” or “I just need to talk.” The right people will meet you with compassion, not judgment. Sometimes talking to a counselor, a trusted teacher, or even writing your thoughts down can bring unexpected relief. Death becomes less frightening when it’s named out loud instead of hidden. Every time you share, you chip away at the loneliness grief tries to create. Speaking about loss doesn’t make it worse; it makes it real—and real things can finally begin to heal.
