Lesson Overview

1.39 – Explaining Mental Health to Your Friends: It’s not easy telling friends about your struggles, especially when you fear judgment. Start with honesty: “Sometimes my brain makes things harder.” You can explain that anxiety or depression isn’t constant sadness—it’s invisible effort. Good friends will listen even if they don’t fully understand. Give them examples of how to support you—maybe space, patience, or distraction. Sharing breaks stigma and strengthens friendship. You don’t owe explanations to everyone, only to those you trust.
