Lesson Overview

20.45 – Supporting Others While Still Prioritizing Yourself: Supporting others while still prioritizing yourself is the balance between empathy and self-preservation. Helping people can be deeply meaningful, but without limits, it can drain your emotional energy. Learn to check your capacity before offering support—if you’re exhausted, step back before resentment builds. Healthy giving happens when compassion comes from abundance, not depletion. Communicate boundaries clearly and model self-care while assisting others. True support empowers, not enables. By protecting your own wellbeing, you teach others to do the same. Saying “I can listen, but I may not have solutions” sets realistic expectations. Caring for yourself doesn’t reduce your kindness—it strengthens it. The more balanced your energy, the more sustainable your ability to help becomes.
