17.01 – When You Dread Going to School Every Day: Feeling dread about school often comes from fear, pressure, or a sense of not belonging. It’s not just laziness—it’s your mind signaling distress that needs care, not criticism. Sometimes the anxiety builds from repeated stress like bullying, low grades, or constant exhaustion. The first step to ease the dread is naming what triggers it, so it feels less like a mystery. Building predictable morning routines can give your brain a sense of control before facing the day. Talking with a trusted adult, counselor, or peer mentor can turn that heavy feeling into a plan instead of panic. You can create micro-moments of safety—like grounding breaths, music, or quick notes of encouragement—to reframe the day. Dread loses power when it’s met with preparation, compassion, and action. Showing up doesn’t mean you’re fine; it means you’re brave enough to keep trying even when it’s hard.
