13.25 – Can You Really Be “Just Friends” After a Breakup?: Friendship after romance depends on timing, healing, and emotional honesty. If feelings still linger, pretending to be fine often causes confusion. Space allows both people to detach before reconnecting genuinely. Being friends requires boundaries stronger than nostalgia. You must accept that the relationship changed forever and treat it as such. True post-breakup friendship isn’t about keeping them close—it’s about wishing them well without losing yourself. Sometimes distance is the kindest way to honor what once was. When both have healed, friendship can exist—but only if respect replaces longing.
