25.09 – Creating an Internal Safety Plan: When the world feels unpredictable, having an inner plan keeps panic from taking over. Your internal safety plan can include calming statements, breathing exercises, and trusted contacts. It’s a mental shelter built from self-awareness and preparation. Instead of waiting for fear to hit, you train yourself to respond with care. Writing down steps like “breathe, move, call, rest” helps your mind follow a roadmap instead of spiraling. The plan doesn’t erase pain, but it keeps you grounded through it. Knowing what to do when memories or triggers appear restores control. Every time you use your plan, you remind your brain that safety is something you can now build, not just hope for.
