9.37 – Safety Signals: Teaching Your Body You’re Okay: Healing begins when you show your body that danger has passed. Safety signals—like deep breathing, soft lighting, gentle touch, or calming sounds—remind your brain to stand down from survival mode. Practice these signals daily so your body learns peace even when stress arises. Over time, small sensations like warmth, quiet, or steady heartbeat start to feel trustworthy again. This rewiring helps separate real threats from memories of them. You can build your own library of safety cues—songs, scents, textures—that calm you instantly. The more often you send these signals, the quicker your body responds with relief instead of alarm. Teaching safety is repetition, not perfection. With patience, your body becomes your ally again, not your enemy.
