Lesson Overview

11.11 – When You’re Addicted to Checking Notifications: Constantly checking notifications might feel harmless, but it rewires your brain to crave interruption. Each buzz or ping promises excitement or validation, keeping your attention hooked on anticipation. Over time, your focus weakens because your brain never finishes a complete thought without checking again. This loop increases anxiety and decreases patience. To regain balance, silence non-urgent alerts and set time windows for digital interaction. Replace notification checking with deep work, stretching, or breathing breaks to retrain your brain toward calm. Reward yourself for every uninterrupted hour of focus—it strengthens self-trust. When your peace becomes more rewarding than your phone’s vibration, you start mastering your attention again. True control begins when you decide which moments deserve your focus and which don’t.
