Lesson Overview

9.19 – What to Do When a Fight Breaks Out Nearby: When violence erupts around you, every sense activates—your heart pounds, hearing sharpens, and time slows. Your body’s first job is survival. Distance yourself quickly without running blindly; know exits or barriers that can keep you safe. Avoid joining crowds filming or shouting; chaos spreads faster that way. Once in a secure area, focus on slowing your breathing to calm your body’s alarms. Contact authorities if safe, and check on others when the situation settles. Afterward, notice any lingering tension—your nervous system might replay the noise or fear. Talking it through or journaling helps your body release that energy. Each time you navigate danger safely, your confidence grows. Safety is more than escape—it’s learning to return to calm after adrenaline fades.
