9.09 – Dealing with Sexual Harassment at School: Being harassed can shake your confidence and make even safe spaces feel hostile. You might blame yourself or stay silent out of fear, but harassment is never your fault. Your feelings of discomfort or anger are valid signals that your boundaries were crossed. Writing down what happened, talking with a counselor, or reporting it to someone in authority begins restoring your power. Emotional safety means surrounding yourself with people who respect you and affirm your right to be secure. Healing also includes grounding yourself after triggers—simple breathing, journaling, or talking can help you reclaim calm. Each act of self-protection reminds your brain you deserve dignity. Standing up for yourself doesn’t always mean confrontation; sometimes it means simply refusing to internalize shame. You are worthy of respect, safety, and peace at every moment.
