30.07 – How to Talk to Someone When You’re Thinking About Dying: Talking about suicidal thoughts can feel impossible because you fear being judged, misunderstood, or locked away. But opening up is one of the bravest acts you can take. Choose someone you trust — a counselor, teacher, friend, or family member — and start with honesty. You don’t need perfect words; you just need to say, “I’m not okay right now.” People often want to help but don’t know how until you guide them. Let them know what you need — whether it’s company, a distraction, or help finding professional support. You deserve to be heard without fear. Sharing your pain doesn’t make you weak; it allows others to hold part of your burden. The truth is, silence feeds despair, but conversation builds safety. Speaking your truth opens the door to help, and help saves lives.
