Lesson Overview

26.11 – Building LGBTQ+ Pride Without Shame: Pride is not just a parade or a flag; it’s the deep understanding that being yourself is something to celebrate, not hide. Pride grows when you replace guilt or embarrassment with appreciation for your own courage and uniqueness. It means recognizing that your story, no matter how quiet or loud, has value. Sometimes pride starts small—like using your name confidently, wearing colors that express you, or simply standing tall when someone tries to make you feel small. It is the opposite of shame; it is self-respect in motion. Learning about LGBTQ+ history reminds you that generations before you fought for the freedom you have now. Carrying pride means honoring them while creating your own space in the world. Pride becomes a daily practice of saying, “I belong here,” even when the world feels uncertain. It’s strength born from honesty, not perfection.
