Lesson Overview

30.18 – You’re Not a Burden for Needing Help: When pain lasts too long, it can convince you that asking for help makes you a problem. But needing support doesn’t make you a burden; it makes you a person being honest about struggle. The people who care about you would rather know what’s happening than lose you to silence. Let them decide what they can handle — don’t assume they’d be better off without you. Think about how you would treat someone else in your place: you’d show empathy, not rejection. The same kindness belongs to you. Reaching out creates connection, and connection heals shame. When you speak your pain aloud, you remind others that being human includes needing help. The world doesn’t get heavier when you share it; it gets lighter for everyone who learns they can too.
