Lesson Overview

23.10 – When People Don’t Respect Your Space: Your personal space—physical, emotional, or digital—is a boundary that deserves recognition. When someone invades it, discomfort signals that your limits need reinforcement. Communicate your boundary clearly: “I need a little space right now” or “Please don’t go through my phone.” If the behavior continues, restate the limit firmly and consider reducing contact. You have a right to environments that feel safe and respectful. Teaching others how to treat you starts with consistency, not confrontation. Some may test limits to see if you mean what you say—show them through steady action. Respecting space isn’t about control; it’s about self-care. Protecting it builds confidence and emotional security, helping you feel balanced around others rather than tense or defensive.
