3.13 – What to Do When You’re Falling Asleep in Class: Struggling to stay awake in class often hides deeper issues like stress, poor sleep, or burnout. It’s easy to feel embarrassed, but your body is trying to send a message. Start by checking your nighttime habits—screens, caffeine, or worry might be stealing rest. A consistent bedtime trains your energy cycle. During the day, move around between classes to restart circulation. Drinking water boosts alertness better than another energy drink. Ask if your schedule or workload can be adjusted for balance. Eating breakfast and snacks with protein keeps your brain active longer. If drowsiness keeps happening, talk to the nurse or counselor about possible fatigue causes. Sitting near the front or taking notes by hand can re-engage focus. Everyone has off days, but long-term exhaustion needs attention. Your education works best when your body and brain work together. Being proactive protects both learning and health.
