Lesson Overview

7.36 – Owning Your Story While Still Healing It: Healing doesn’t erase your past; it changes your relationship to it. You can own your story even while it’s still tender. Sharing pieces of your journey can bring meaning to pain and connection to others. But ownership doesn’t mean oversharing—it means recognizing your narrative as yours to tell. Healing happens in layers, and each retelling might sound different as you grow. You can hold pride and sadness at the same time. Every time you speak from truth instead of trauma, you strengthen your sense of self. Owning your story also means protecting it from those who misuse it. You decide who gets access to your vulnerability. The story of survival becomes a story of power when told through reflection, not reaction.
