Lesson Overview

9.28 – The Mental Health Impact of Being Jumped or Attacked: Being attacked shocks your system physically and emotionally. Your body’s survival instincts kick in first, but afterward your mind keeps replaying the event trying to make sense of it. You might feel jumpy, angry, or numb because your brain is still processing fear. These reactions are not signs of weakness—they’re signs of impact. Healing means giving both your body and emotions time to recover. Simple grounding tools—like naming five things you see, four you feel, three you hear—pull your brain back to the present. Seeking professional or community support helps your nervous system stabilize again. Each day you wake up and choose to move forward is proof of recovery in motion. Survival was step one; rebuilding confidence is step two. Both are signs of remarkable strength.
