30.41 – What to Do When You Wake Up Crying: Waking in tears can feel like grief catching you off-guard. Your body remembers pain even when your mind tries to rest. Before judging yourself, pause and breathe. Sit up, feel your heartbeat, name the feeling without pushing it away. Tears are your body’s language for release. Try gentle grounding — splash cold water, turn on dim light, or stretch slowly. Don’t rush to silence emotion; let it empty gently. Write or voice what the dream or feeling brought up. It’s okay to seek comfort, text a friend, or listen to calm sounds. Crying isn’t starting over; it’s your system detoxing pain you didn’t know was still there. Each sunrise after tears is proof your body chose healing instead of shutdown.
