7.03 – Understanding Gender Identity and Expression: Gender is not just what others see; it’s how you feel and express yourself inside and out. Some people discover their identity early, while others take time to figure it out—and that’s okay. Society often links gender to roles, colors, or expectations that limit how people live. True expression means being free to show who you are without fear. You might find comfort in certain pronouns, names, or ways of dressing that feel right to you. Respecting others’ gender identity is just as important as understanding your own. When you listen to different experiences, your empathy grows. Identity is not fixed—it’s a spectrum that deserves respect and honesty. The more you learn about yourself, the more you can stand tall in your truth. Your gender identity belongs only to you, and it deserves acceptance, not explanation.
