2.02 – What to Do When You Feel Suicidal: Feeling suicidal often means the pain has become louder than hope. It can seem like nothing will ever change, yet even deep despair can shift when you share it instead of carrying it alone. The mind tells lies when it is exhausted, convincing you that you are a burden or that help won’t work. Those thoughts are symptoms of distress, not facts. When the urge to die rises, focus on time—survive the next minute, then the next. Call or text a trusted number, crisis line, or friend, even if words feel stuck. Saying “I’m not safe right now” is enough. The act of reaching out breaks isolation’s hold. Breathing slowly or holding something cold can anchor you back to your body. Writing down reasons to stay alive, even tiny ones, helps keep the spark of life visible. The world you want to leave may look different tomorrow. The goal is not to fix everything tonight—it’s to make it through tonight safely. You are worthy of care simply because you exist. Safety is the first step toward seeing light again.
