Lesson Overview

21.09 – When Anxiety Makes You Physically Sick Anxiety can feel like living on constant alert, and the body reacts as if a real threat is near. You might experience nausea, dizziness, or tightness in your chest. These symptoms aren’t “all in your head”—they’re your nervous system working overtime. The body releases stress hormones that speed your heart, tense your muscles, and upset digestion. Over time, this can make you feel drained and even more anxious about the sensations themselves. Calming anxiety means helping your body unlearn that false alarm. Breathing exercises, grounding practices, and small lifestyle shifts remind your system that safety exists in the present. Recognizing patterns between thoughts and symptoms lets you respond earlier. When body and mind start to cooperate, anxiety loses its power and healing becomes steadier.
