Lesson Overview

8.03 – Moving to a New School or New City: Leaving behind familiar places and faces can feel like losing part of yourself. You might walk into a new environment where no one knows your story, and that can feel both freeing and lonely. It’s normal to miss the old hallways, routines, and people who made you feel seen. Change often brings mixed emotions—excitement about new beginnings and grief for what’s left behind. Building new friendships takes time, and it’s okay to miss the ones who knew you best. Stay open to new experiences but allow yourself to mourn what’s gone. Each goodbye makes space for growth you couldn’t see before. Keeping in touch with old friends can anchor you while you find your footing. Over time, the new will start to feel familiar, and you’ll realize you didn’t lose everything—you carried the best parts of your old life with you.
