Lesson Overview

1.16 – Coping with Emotional Overload: Emotional overload feels like too many tabs open in your brain and none will close. It’s when you’re juggling school stress, friendships, family, and hidden fears all at once until your body says, “enough.” You might cry unexpectedly, get angry over small things, or shut down completely. Overload isn’t failure—it’s a signal that your mind needs breathing space. Start by slowing everything down: breathe deeply, write what’s bothering you, and focus on one task at a time. Saying “no” and taking breaks protects your mental energy. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and rest isn’t laziness—it’s recovery. Learn to notice early signs of overload so you can respond before it explodes. Emotional balance comes from pacing, not pushing harder. Protecting your peace is a skill worth mastering.
