Lesson Overview

4.37 – Supporting a Friend Who’s in a Toxic Relationship: Watching a friend stay in a harmful relationship can be frustrating and painful. You may want to rescue them, but forcing change rarely works. Offer compassion, not judgment, so they feel safe opening up. Gently remind them of their worth and boundaries. Listen without criticizing their choices. Encourage professional help if abuse is suspected. Being patient may take emotional strength, but it’s worth it. Protect your own mental health while supporting theirs. When they’re ready to leave, be a steady presence. Your care and consistency might be the lifeline they need to find freedom.
