Lesson Overview

23.26 – What to Say When Someone Crosses a Line: When someone disrespects you or makes you uncomfortable, your voice becomes your boundary’s first defender. Responding calmly but firmly shows strength without hostility. Use clear language like “That comment isn’t okay with me” or “Please don’t touch my things.” Avoid sarcasm or long explanations—clarity commands respect faster than anger does. If the person laughs it off, repeat your boundary with the same calm tone; consistency reveals seriousness. Protecting yourself isn’t overreacting; it’s honoring self-worth. Whether it happens at school, online, or in public, direct words create accountability. You are teaching people how to treat you. Each firm moment of truth sets a precedent for future respect and gives others permission to stand up for themselves too.
