8.27 – Losing a Sibling or Cousin: Losing someone your own age or close in spirit can shake your sense of safety. A sibling or cousin often grows with you, shares secrets, and helps you understand who you are. When they’re gone, everyday life feels off-balance—inside jokes vanish, traditions feel quieter, and family gatherings seem incomplete. You might feel pressure to stay strong for others or guilt for surviving. Remember that love between peers is deep and sacred, and your grief deserves space. Keep their memory alive through shared stories, photos, or music that reminds you of them. Grieving together with family can rebuild closeness even through tears. You’ll always miss them, but you can still celebrate their life by living in ways that reflect what they taught you—kindness, humor, and the courage to keep going.
