Lesson Overview

11.12 – Feeling Left Out of Group Chats: Group chats can create closeness, but they also amplify feelings of exclusion. When friends keep talking after you log off, it’s easy to imagine they’re leaving you out intentionally. Most of the time, timing—not rejection—is the reason. Still, repeated silence can sting deeply. Setting emotional boundaries helps prevent your mood from depending on message frequency. Instead of replaying what was said, reach out directly and express how you feel—authentic communication clears assumptions faster than withdrawal. Keep perspective by remembering digital conversations don’t define real friendships. Take breaks when threads become overwhelming and reengage when you feel balanced. When you focus on quality interactions over constant chatter, your sense of belonging grows naturally again. Real connection happens in presence, not perpetual texting.
