28.32 – Coping With Body Shaming at Home or School: Body shaming can sneak into jokes, comparisons, or “advice” disguised as concern. It can wound even when you pretend it doesn’t. The first defense is remembering that someone’s comment doesn’t rewrite your worth. Set boundaries clearly and practice neutral responses like “That’s not helpful.” Surround yourself with voices that uplift rather than critique. Healing requires both protection and perspective—you can’t control others’ behavior, but you can control which opinions take root. When you focus on treating your body kindly, outside criticism loses grip. Confidence returns as you replace shame with self-respect. Over time, the noise of judgment fades beneath the steady rhythm of your own voice reminding you: this body is not for ridicule, it’s for living fully.
